FUN FACT: When Thai families sit down to eat a meal together, the food is served and enjoyed communally. So, instead of each person ordering their own meal or being served their food on an individual plate, everyone helps themselves from a selection of dishes placed in the center of the table. This way, everyone has an opportunity to taste a range of different recipes.

FUN FACT: The reason why Thai food is so tasty is because it aims to achieve a delicious balance of salty, sweet, sour, spicy and bitter ingredients.

FUN FACT: Phuket’s name may come from the Malay word Bukit, which means “hill.”

FUN FACT: The heritage of Baba or Peranakan people can still be seen in Phuket. The beautiful Sino-Portuguese mansions are scattered around the Phuket Old Town — a can’t-miss site for travelers who love culture and art. The highlight attractions are Soi Romanee, Phuket Old Street and Blue Elephant Restaurant.

FUN FACT: Over half the island is covered with pineapple, palm oil and rubber plantations.

FUN FACT: You might spot a small stall by the rural roadsides or in community areas with a bottle of “whiskey.” This is actually gasoline! Small gasoline operators offer this as a way for locals to fill up their motorbike tanks without heading into town.

In 2021, nearly 4,359 Distributors qualified for an incentive trip. This is about 4% of all Distributors who earned at least one Travel Point.
